Question: I have just recently been told I have ulcerative colitis...

My Dr has put me on Cortifoam and Protodan HC to hopefully alleviate my syptoms of bleeding and pain. I have found that since using the Cortifoam I am getting extremely agitated in my mood and frame of mind. Is this normal and will it go away with continued use?

Answer

Mood disturbances are associated with steroid exposure. Rectal steroid therapies are less likely to produce steroid side effects, but it is possible that these meds are contributing to your symptoms.
